City & Guilds 6160-07 L3 Award in Direct Emergency Rescue and Recovery of Casualties from Confined Spaces.
This is a 1-day training course for anyone who directs the activities of a team for rescue or recovery in confined spaces, which may include a rescue team leader, coordinator, entry controller/top person or supervisor. As this is a supplementary qualification you must have already completed both the C&G 6160-03 High Risk Confined Space Course and the C&G 6160-08 Working as a Member of a Rescue and Recovery Team in Confined Spaces before attending this training.
As a Level 3 qualification this training courses qualifies for ELCAS funding.
The aim of this unit is to reflect the national occupational standard for directing emergency rescue and recovery of casualties from confined spaces. This unit covers both water and non-water industry areas in areas such as the rescue and recovery of casualties, planning and preparing for emergency operations, mobilising rescue teams, directing and monitoring rescue activities, and reporting and securing sites after incidents or emergencies.
Course content:
- Understand the principles of working as rescue team leader
- Understand rescue team leader duties and responsibilities
- Plan and prepare emergency operations for rescue team
- Monitor a rescue team to ensure procedures are followed
- Mobilise a rescue team and direct entry and exit to the confined space
