Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor – Galliford Try / Morrison Construction

Purpose of the role:

We have commercial opportunities for Assistant and Quantity Surveyors across our business where you’ll support administration, reporting, and performance on major projects or multiple schemes. Your leadership, discipline, and attention to detail will help us deliver projects safely and efficiently while building a rewarding career in construction.

With vacancies across a range of business units including highways, water (environment), specialist services and building, there are opportunities to work on projects that genuinely make a difference to communities across the UK.

What you will be doing:

• Support a safe and compliant working environment across projects
• Manage subcontract packages, including terms, pricing, programmes, and interim assessments
• Issue and manage commercial notices, changes, and Compensation Event Quotations in line with contracts
• Prepare, submit, and agree monthly applications with clients and monitor project expenditure
• Maintain detailed cost plans, schedules of subcontractor liabilities, and Oracle-based analyses
• Liaise with site, operational, and engineering teams to ensure accurate records and reporting
• Produce monthly reports, Cost Value Reconciliations, and interpret expenditure data for decision-making
• Contribute contractual expertise to estimating, bid teams, and project meetings, driving value and profit
