Purpose of the role:
We are looking for Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Advisors to join Galliford Try, where you will play a key role in keeping people safe, applying your experience of risk management, discipline and leadership to support site teams. With business units ranging from highways to water, specialist services and building, there are opportunities to work on projects that genuinely make a difference to communities across the UK.
This role would suit people leaving the Armed Forces, as you will be joining a company with a strong focus on values-driven safety culture where everyone looks out for one another.
What you will be doing:
- Report to the Project HS&E Manager, contributing to a strong and supportive safety team
- Carry out regular assurance activities, monitoring compliance with HSE standards and systems
- Take a practical, “on-site” approach, building trusted relationships across the project team
- Provide clear, timely advice on health, safety and environmental matters in dynamic, high-risk environments
- Support incident investigations, helping identify root causes and share learning
- Assist in developing and delivering improvement plans to continuously raise HSE performance
- Monitor trends, carry out inspections, and help close out actions to keep people safe
- Promote an inclusive, positive safety culture where everyone feels empowered to speak up and look out for one another
