From our base in South Brent, Devon, SA Safety provides support services for major organisations in the industrial, utilities and defence sectors. We’re recruiting additional Rope Access Team members NOW to support long-term contracts in Plymouth and the South West.
About the role
We are recruiting experienced Rope Access Technicians at IRATA Levels 1, 2, and 3 to join our team on exciting projects across Plymouth, Devon, and the wider South West region.
Working at height using industrial rope access techniques, you will carry out a variety of tasks including inspection, maintenance, repair, installation, and surface preparation on structures in challenging and hard-to-reach environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rope access tasks including inspection, maintenance, cleaning, painting, and repair work
- Carry out surface preparation and protective coatings application where required
- Conduct work on marine, industrial, and infrastructure structures
- Adhere strictly to IRATA safety standards and site-specific procedures
- Participate in emergency response and rescue operations as needed
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed
Requirements for the role
Essential:
- Valid IRATA certification (Level 1, 2, or 3 depending on role)
- Proven rope access experience in industrial or construction settings
- CSCS Card
- Current medical certificate for working at height
- Asbestos Awareness certification
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Confined Space training (City & Guilds 6160 or Rescue 3)
- First Aid at Work or FREC3 certification
- Blasting/coatings application experience
- Dockyard or marine sector experience
- Security clearance (or willingness to obtain)
