Description

This 4-day course offers practical instruction for those looking to gain a new DIY skill. If a learner already has some experience a 2-day course is also available, please click here Skills Course - 2 Day Plastering. This practical course is delivered in our purpose-built workshops.

Course Content During the course you will learn a range of practical skills:

Understand the different tools and equipment used in Plastering Know how to carry out preparations required prior to Plastering Gain knowledge of different backgrounds that receive Plaster Materials used including bonding, multi finish, board, different beads, PVA and Thistle Bond Apply plaster to plaster-boarded walls Apply plaster to previously plastered walls Measure, and cut plaster boards and fix these to different backgrounds Apply plaster to a full ceiling Patch and repair damaged walls and ceilings Who is this course for? This course is for anyone looking to gain an introduction to basic plastering skills prior to employment or small plastering skills for projects at home.

Assessment Method This is an in-house course assessed via observation of practical activity.

Progression Learners could progress onto the 6-week British Gypsum Site Skimming course to support employment opportunities.

Course Requirements* Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided for the duration of the course, but learners must provide and wear safety footwear at all times in the workshops.
