Description
The Hub of Hope is the UK's leading mental health support database provided by the national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma. It serves as a comprehensive resource that brings together a wide range of mental health support and services, including local, national, peer, community, charity, private, and NHS resources, all in one accessible place. The primary goal of the Hub of Hope is to make it easier for individuals to find relevant and nearby mental health support when they need it most.
The origins of the Hub of Hope stem from the personal experience of Jake Mills, the founder and CEO of Chasing the Stigma. Jake experienced extreme mental and emotional distress and struggled to find the appropriate support when he needed it. This firsthand experience inspired him to create a platform that could address the challenges of accessing mental health services. Initially, it started as a simple spreadsheet of local services but has since evolved into a crucial tool for signposting people to mental health support.
The Hub of Hope is designed for anyone who is experiencing mental and emotional distress, as well as their loved ones. It recognizes that people cope with these experiences in various ways and offers a welcoming and inclusive environment. The platform aims to support individuals who may be struggling, whether they are at a crisis point or seeking help during challenging times. Additionally, it provides resources for family members and friends who are supporting someone dealing with mental health issues.
Ultimately, the Hub of Hope is for everyone, as mental and emotional distress can affect anyone at different points in their lives. It offers a wide range of support options and strives to ensure that individuals from all walks of life can find relevant assistance and services to meet their unique needs.
