Are you a veteran of the British Army with a deep background in the Intelligence Corps or Royal Signals? Your expertise is in high demand. We are looking for a highly experienced Intelligence Professional to join our regulated Assessment Organisation as an Apprenticeship Assessor.
This is a unique opportunity to pivot your military technical experience into a rewarding civilian career, ensuring that the next wave of Level 4 Intelligence Analysts, Data Analysts, and Data Technicians meet the rigorous standards of the industry.
The Role
As an Assessor, you will be the bridge between technical mastery and educational excellence. You will conduct comprehensive assessments through professional discussions, practical observations, and portfolio reviews. Your primary mission is to ensure that every apprentice is evaluated fairly, consistently, and against the highest regulatory standards.
You will work within a collaborative team alongside Assessment Coordinators and Internal Quality Assurers, reporting directly to the Assessment Delivery Manager. While primarily office-based, you will occasionally travel to employer sites to conduct "on-the-ground" evaluations, maintaining the integrity of the UK’s apprenticeship framework.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct robust evaluations for Level 4 Intelligence/Data Analysts and Level 3 Data Technicians using diverse methods such as project reviews and Q&A sessions
Deliver clear, constructive, and supportive written feedback to help apprentices refine their skills
Adhere strictly to Ofqual Conditions of Recognition and internal assessment strategies to ensure high-quality, defensible outcomes
Participate in regular training and standardisation meetings to ensure assessment decisions remain consistent across the board
Act as an SME to assist in the development and improvement of assessment materials and tools
Essential Criteria
You must be a former member of the British Army, ideally from the Intelligence Corps or Royal Signals
A strong, hands-on background in Intelligence and Data environments
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead professional discussions
The ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC)
A keen eye for detail and the flexibility to work within a regulated framework
Desired Criteria:
Hold a formal Assessor or IQA Qualification (candidates prepared to work towards these will be considered)
Prior experience in assessing qualifications or apprenticeship standards
