Summary
Freedom is recruiting a Project Manager to lead teams delivering projects safely, on time and to specification. Reporting to the Portfolio Delivery Manager or Operations Manager, you will manage the SSEN OHL contract and ensure all operational, financial and compliance requirements are achieved to the highest standards.

 
Responsibilities

• Manage multiple or major projects safely and effectively, meeting programme, quality and budget targets.
• Oversee all financial aspects of your projects, including costing, variations and invoicing.
• Ensure all works comply with Freedom and customer standards, policies and procedures.
• Maintain and develop your technical competence in line with legislation and customer expectations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to ensure safe, efficient and effective operational delivery.
• Monitor progress and report updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee and enforce compliance with safety rules, method statements and risk assessments.
• Liaise with third parties to support smooth project execution.
• Maintain awareness of Freedom’s SHE policies and ensure full adherence on site.
• Maintain site safety and complete daily risk assessments.
• Ensure accidents and near misses are reported, investigated and closed out promptly.
• Raise any SHE concerns with the SHE team.
• Champion Freedom’s values across your team.
• Manage staff performance, conduct reviews and identify training needs.
• Carry out site safety inspections and ensure remedial actions are completed.
• Ensure all statutory records, certificates, licences and notifications are in place.
• Prepare project safety documentation, CDM plans and risk assessments.
• Support the resolution of customer complaints where necessary.

 Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects in an engineering or utilities environment.
• Strong understanding of safety legislation, CDM and operational compliance.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience managing budgets, variations and commercial processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills.
• Competence with digital systems and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of OHL or power sector projects (beneficial)
