About the Role
Morson Nexus is seeking an operationally credible and technically authoritative leader to take full accountability for the integrity, quality and industry relevance of training delivery across our organisation.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who has built their credibility onsite, understands regulated environments first-hand, and can confidently hold delivery teams to account against real-world industry standards.

This is not a policy-only compliance post. We require a technically grounded leader who combines hands-on experience with strategic oversight.

As the senior technical authority across Nexus, you will safeguard and elevate standards across construction, health & safety, rail and wider safety-critical training provision.

You will operate as a senior extension of the Training Assurance and Compliance function, ensuring that all delivery remains operationally sound, defensible and aligned to evolving regulatory and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Authority & Delivery Oversight:

Act as the senior technical authority for all training delivery across Nexus
Define and uphold standards for curriculum design, methodology and assessment practice
Provide technical sign-off for new programmes and assessment strategies
Ensure alignment with current legislation, industry standards and awarding body requirements
Challenge and improve delivery standards to maintain credibility and compliance

Operational Credibility & Industry Alignment:

Ensure content and assessment reflect real-world site conditions
Validate that delivery models remain practical, current and industry-aligned
Engage with sector bodies and stakeholders to maintain external credibility
Protect the defensibility and reputation of Nexus within regulated environments

Quality & Compliance Integration:

Work closely with the Director of Compliance to embed technical rigour into governance frameworks
Contribute to audits, inspections and accreditation processes (CITB, rail and other sector frameworks)
Identify and mitigate delivery risks within safety-critical provision
Strengthen internal QA processes through applied technical scrutiny
Ensure corrective actions are implemented where standards fall short

Trainer Leadership, CPD & Succession Planning:

Take full accountability for the technical competence and development of all trainers and assessors
Design and implement a structured CPD framework aligned to regulatory and awarding body requirements
Develop and review individual PDPs across the training function
Identify skills gaps and capability risks
Create succession plans to reduce operational risk and single points of failure
Mentor trainers into senior, specialist or leadership roles
Hold delivery staff accountable for competence and professional standards

Strategic Contribution:

Contribute to sector expansion and programme development decisions
Provide technical insight to commercial and operational teams
Support scaling of the Nexus training model while protecting quality and credibility
Maintain and strengthen Nexus' reputation as a defensible, industry-leading training provider

Essential Experience:

Significant site-based experience in construction, rail or other safety-critical sectors

Experience leading delivery standards within an SME or multi-site training organisation
Demonstrable track record of holding delivery teams accountable for technical quality

Deep understanding of vocational training delivery and assessment methodology
Strong working knowledge of quality assurance in regulated environments
Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical delivery standards
Confident, credible technical presence
