Brief Description
Monitor, collate, analyse, and interpret information within Intelligent Infrastructure (II) systems to determine asset state and/or health and predict and prevent asset failure against agreed criteria. Provide advisory information to staff working in response to alarms, alerts, and scheduled maintenance activities to support timely removal of service affecting failures.
About the role (External)
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Using insight from Intelligent Infrastructure, notify change in asset status to staff responsible for the management of maintenance and faulting tasks to prevent service affecting failure.
2. Provide alert and alarm fault status, location, and diagnostic history for any reported failures on monitored assets and provide advisory information as required to minimise response and restore time.
3. Manage data quality and alert/alarm levels within the systems under your remit with a focus on providing timely information on type and likelihood of failure to relevant staff who will create and prioritise entries within fault and incident management systems
4. Manage the calibration of Intelligent Infrastructure equipment to meet defined criticality settings, supported by maintenance teams, to deliver effective response to alerts and alarms and reduce service affecting failures.
5. Provide reports on asset health, including highlighting those that are in maintenance mode.
6. Support routine analysis and improvement activity as required by line management.
7. Utilise information within Intelligent Infrastructure systems to support verification and correction of asset, work and failure data exceptions identified by decision support tools.
8. Contribute to your own development and that of others.
9. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Experience, skills, knowledge, competencies, and qualifications
1. Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team.
2. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
3. Knowledge of asset monitoring techniques and systems
4. Knowledge and experience of railway or other industry inspection, faulting, and maintenance techniques.
5. Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions.
6. Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post, required by business need.
