Housing Support for British Armed Forces Connection in Need
Description
If you're struggling to find stable, affordable housing after service, Haig Housing provides quality homes specifically for veterans and their families across the UK.
Who can apply
You may be eligible if you served in the Regular Armed Forces for at least three years, were discharged early on medical or redundancy grounds, or are currently serving with a discharge date within six months. Widows, widowers, and separated partners of service personnel may also qualify. In some cases, reservists and Merchant Navy veterans are eligible too.
To apply, you'll need to be in genuine housing need — meaning you're currently homeless, at risk of homelessness, or unable to afford to rent or buy privately.
How it works
You apply to join Haig Housing's register, and when a suitable property becomes available in your preferred area, they'll match you to it. You can express interest in locations even if nothing is available right now.
Applications take up to four weeks to process. If accepted, you'll be asked for proof of service, income details, and right to rent documentation when a property comes up.
How to apply
Download the application form from the Haig Housing website, complete it, and email it back. You can also request a paper copy by post.
