Description

The Invictus Games is an international sporting event that supports the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured, or sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. Founded by the Duke of Sussex after being inspired by the Warrior Games in America in 2013, the Invictus Games have been held in various locations since 2014. In 2025, the event will take place in Whistler and Vancouver, featuring new winter sports. The Games aim to inspire recovery and use the power of sports to support rehabilitation. It's a life-changing and, for some, life-saving experience, as highlighted by former Team UK captain Rach, who journeyed from injury to the Invictus Games. The Royal British Legion (RBL) plays a crucial role in supporting veterans, serving personnel, and their families through injury or illness, offering various forms of assistance, including recovery support programs and financial aid. The Games have a profound impact on individuals like Army veteran Matthew, showing that no obstacle is insurmountable. If you're inspired by Team UK and want to be part of the Invictus Games, you can register your interest for the 2025 event.

About Royal British Legion

For over 100 years, the Royal British Legion has been fighting on behalf of our Armed Forces community. We believe that no-one who has served to protect our freedom should be disadvantaged because of the sacrifices they have made. The men and women of the Armed Forces play an extraordinary role in protecting our country, as well as providing support to other nations through peace keeping, conservation and humanitarian work.

We provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. Our support starts after one day of service and continues through life, long after service is over. From providing expert advice and guidance, to recovery and rehabilitation, through to transitioning to civilian life – we are by their side of veterans and their families every step of the way.

We campaign and advocate for the rights and fair treatment of all those who have served and their families - and through our championing of Remembrance, ensure that their service and sacrifice are never forgotten.
