The Forward Assist Veterans Community Café has reopened and offers a wide variety healthy nutritious meals and refreshments, including volunteering to reduce social isolation and loneliness. If you need, Information Advice & Guidance call in and we will point you in the right direction.Salute Café, a veteran-led café, was established in August 2017 with support from Starbucks UK Coffee Company. It offers veterans the opportunity to train as coffee baristas and volunteer at the café, helping some veterans find part-time employment. The café serves as a focal point in the local community and operates the Veterans Food Distribution Project, distributing donated supermarket food to those in need, having given away over seventy tons of surplus food since 2018. In 2023, the café plans to restart cookery lessons for veterans receiving benefits, contributing to their skill development and well-being.
