Service Pupil Premium
Description
SPP is money paid directly to state schools, free schools, and academies in England to provide extra support, mainly pastoral, for children with parents in the Armed Forces. The Premium was introduced as part of the Armed Forces Covenant commitment. It is available for children of currently serving Service personnel, Full Time Reserve Service members, and children of deceased or injured Service parents for up to six years. The funding arrangements differ in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
How can you claim SPP? In England, let your school know that you are a Service family so that this can be noted on the school census in October and enable the school to claim the Service Pupil Premium.
The process differs in Ni, Scotland & Wales. If you have any questions, please email us, at the email address provided.
