Description
Our funding encompasses seven distinct program areas, which are:
- Employment
- Health
- Housing
- Criminal Justice
- Relationships
- Finance
- Enabling Programme
Across these program areas, we are committed to funding initiatives that are targeted, conceptually sound, and contribute to evidence generation and policy influence activities. Our objective is to enhance the capability of the Armed Forces Charities sector and advocate for positive changes in policy and service provision.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of organisations, including small not-for-profit groups, charities, and larger institutions like universities. However, we encourage all applicants to review our policy regarding overhead costs, which can be found on our website.
It's essential for applicants to carefully read our eligibility criteria provided on our website and proceed with their application only if it aligns with the Trust's objectives.
What We Can Fund: We support projects that address identified needs and align with FiMT's Change Model, aiming for outcomes that are relevant, have potential for growth, and can bring about sustainable change.
What We Can't Fund: We do not support the following, regardless of their worthiness:
- Service delivery, unless it's part of a broader project primarily focused on supporting our four change mechanisms.
- Work that doesn't benefit Service men, women, veterans, and their families.
- Work with no direct benefit in the UK, except for foreign and commonwealth groups that have served in the UK Armed Forces.
- Work primarily the responsibility of central or local government and statutory providers, or projects replacing statutory funding.
- Profit-making organisations, unless their objective supports Service men, women, veterans, and their families as part of a corporate social responsibility program.
- Grants to individuals, including research grants for individuals (e.g., PhD students).
- organisations with unrestricted reserves exceeding one year of operations.
- Ongoing costs for already established projects.
- Retrospective funding.
- Grants to churches or religious bodies for religious purposes.
- General appeals or circulars.
We appreciate your commitment to aligning with our funding guidelines and objectives as we work together to support the Armed Forces community.
