Description
If you're unsure about attending a FAB Camp with your family, we have Ambassadors who can help. These Ambassadors are families who have already been to a FAB camp and can answer your questions. They'll share their honest experiences to help you decide if it's right for you. We have Ambassadors from all three services who are willing to talk to new families. If you want to connect with an Ambassador, please use the enquiry form provided. Some feedback from FAB families highlights how meeting these Ambassadors helped them cope with loss, find inspiration, and learn to enjoy life again.
About FAB Families' Activity Breaks
Families' Activity Breaks (FAB) provide fun and challenging activity camps around the UK for bereaved military families.
FAB is a non-public funded, tri-service charity (registered charity no.1178108, SC054207), providing a welcome break to meet and socialise with others who have experienced a similar loss
If your child is 19 years old or younger on the first day of camp, and has suffered the loss of a serving loved one in the Armed Forces, then you may be eligible for a FAB camp. FAB aims to be inclusive rather than exclusive. If your circumstance does not quite fit this criteria, please do get in touch as the committee will consider these on a case-by-case basis.
The backbone of FAB is the volunteer network. To be a volunteer you must be serving in the Armed Forces, a Veteran or Defence Civilian. All volunteers are trained in bereavement support for all the family. Volunteers are there to lend a helping hand throughout the FAB camp.
We also have Ambassadors, who are families who have attended camps, and are willing to talk to you about what you can expect on a FAB camp
