We are looking for a specialist writer for the Business Development Services Central team based in London. You will have knowledge of investment products and produce high-quality and timely information for our clients about their investments.

The base

The team
The Business Development Services (BDS) function partners with colleagues across Client Group, Investment Product and other parts of Schroders to grow our client base and service existing investors/consultants. BDS is comprised of several sub teams including the Central team, which is responsible for the completion of pre-sale tenders (RFPs) and post-sale servicing questionnaires (DDQs). More broadly, BDS also includes regional teams mirroring the Central team's function as well as a Consultant & RFP Data team that supports the Consultant channel by maintaining firm and product content on platforms.
What you'll do
As a Business Development Services Specialist, you will apply your knowledge of investment products and Schroders' operations in delivering high-quality responses to clients' requests for information. You will partner with client-facing and investment team members so that BDS can produce high quality materials effectively. You will collaborate with specialists across the BDS team responding to DDQs and RFPs, ensuring that the function is working effectively as a team.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce high quality responses to clients' request for information, working as a partner with senior client-facing and investment team members to achieve this.
- Project manage the response process end-to-end: from organising kick-off meetings to ensuring that a high-quality submission is provided to clients, to gathering feedback from clients for future submissions.
- Support team management with the workflow allocation for client requests, so that all requests are responded to on a timely and efficient basis.
- Proactively adopt AI tools in daily tasks and share insights to improve processes and outcomes.
- Provide support to colleagues completing DDQs and other client materials including RFPs, across the global team.
- Build relations with internal stakeholders to deepen knowledge of the products that you specialise in.
- Collaborate with content and data teams so that they can support the response to clients' request for information by maintaining relevant content and providing necessary quantitative information.
- Undertake peer reviews for other team members, ensuring submissions are to the high standard expected for our clients.
- Contribute to team and wider initiatives.
- Where appropriate attend Schroders and external events to further your client, industry and product knowledge.
- Collaborate with the content manager so that response to client requests can be published using the capabilities of our knowledge base.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
- Understanding of DDQs and/or RFPs within asset management.
- Strong writing skills, numeracy and literacy.
- Understanding of public markets (e.g. equity, fixed income, multi-asset and solutions) and private markets (e.g. private equity, real estate, infrastructure finance).
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
- Experience working with sales, investment and senior management colleagues.
- CFA, IMC or other industry qualifications.
- Language skills an advantage.
- Experience with Qvidian (or equivalent) for content.
- Experience with Salesforce (or equivalent) for CRM.
- Team player with the ability to use own initiative and who is a self-starter.
