Who we are
Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK's only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1).
The 109km HS1 infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations; St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Stratford International.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client 'HS1 Ltd', undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations - through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.

Salary: Role Clarity 6
Contract Type: 12 month Secondment opportunity

Your role will be central to the effective management of the stations function, providing crucial administrative support to the Head of Stations & Passenger Experience.
You'll be at the heart of the team-coordinating, supporting, and helping everything flow seamlessly.
About the role (External)
What You'll Be Doing
📬 Office Operations Extraordinaire
- Managing incoming mail, diaries and schedules
- Maintaining personnel and asset records (including mobile devices)
- Sorting travel, hotels, vehicles, and all things PPE
📅 Master of Meetings
- Organising meetings and pulling together all the paperwork
- Taking minutes professionally and ensuring actions are followed through
📞 Voice of the Team
- Acting as the central telephone contact
- Sharing updates, messages, and communications across the team
🗂 Filing & Records Wizard
- Keeping filing structured, compliant, and accessible-particularly statutory documents
🛒 Procurement Partner
- Using financial and purchasing systems
- Ordering stationery and office supplies as needed
🖥 Problem Spotter & Fix-Finder
- Reporting and monitoring IT and office facilities issues
🧠 Admin & Research Hero
- Supporting the team with admin tasks and technical literature searches
And of course, you'll do it all while living and breathing Network Rail's values.
🌈 What You Bring to the Team (Essentials)
- Confident user of key IT packages
- Excellent time-management skills
- Strong organisational ability
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication
- A professional, friendly telephone manner
- Experience working effectively within a team
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks with ease
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have!)
- Experience within the railway industry
- Knowledge of UK railway geography
- Qualifications in keyboard or office management skills
- Records management experience
