Contract Type: Fixed Term - initially until 31 March 2026

Working Hours: 14.8 hours/2 days a week

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £32,597 - £35,412 per annum (Pro rata for part time)

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Finance & Business Support Officer to join the Council's Communications and Marketing team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth financial and operational running of our advertising, design, print services - helping us to deliver high-quality, cost-effective service to both internal and external customers. You'll work closely with the team managers to monitor budgets, manage procurement processes, and support income generation. Key responsibilities

  • Process payments, raise purchase orders, and recharge customers using Oracle Fusion.
  • Coordinate advertising bookings and manage design, print and photography orders via internal systems.
  • Manage the Design & Print email inbox and liaise with customers and suppliers.
  • Provide first-line customer support and advice.
  • Raise support tickets and resolve finance system issues.
  • Monitor budgets, produce financial reports, and support monthly forecasting.
  • Manage artwork files and maintain archiving systems.
  • Maintain effective file management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with council policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge/experience:

Essential:
  • Experience in financial administration and budget monitoring.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in using financial systems, specifically Oracle Fusion, and Microsoft Office.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to high service standards.

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of design, print and advertising services.
  • Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment.
  • Understanding of procurement and contract management processes.
