About the Role
Working closely with academic staff, students, and technical colleagues,you will support practical teaching, learning, and research activities acrosshealthcare skills areas. Your responsibilities will include setting up andclearing practical classes, maintaining, and repairing equipment, managingconsumables and inventories, and supporting the use of simulation and learningtechnologies.
You will also contribute to health and safety compliance, first-lineequipment maintenance, and the ongoing development and efficient operation ofskills rooms across the faculty.
This post is offered at 0.6 FTE, with example working patternsincluding mornings Monday to Friday or three full days per week. Someflexibility will be required to meet operational needs.
About You
You will be an approachable and organised individual with excellentcommunication skills and the ability to work effectively both as part of a teamand independently. You will have experience working in a manual handlingenvironment and a strong awareness of health and safety requirements.Experience supporting skills or laboratory environments, particularly withineducation or healthcare, would be advantageous.
You will be willing to engage with new technologies, adapt to changingpriorities, and work across campuses when required.

Bournemouth University is seeking a Healthcare Skills Technician(Grade 3) to join our established and supportive technician team within theFaculty of Health, Environment & Medical Sciences (HEMS). This is anexciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality,simulation-based education for healthcare students.
This is a Grade 3 post reporting to the Healthcare Skills and Technology Team Leader (HEMS). The post holder will be expected to work in accordance with Bournemouth University's policies on equality, diversity, health and safety, and environmental sustainability. Based primarily inthe Bournemouth Gateway Building, Lansdowne Campus, you will play a keyrole in supporting the safe, effective, and efficient operation of ourhealthcare skills facilities and equipment
