Support & Welfare for Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces
Description
Support & Welfare: We're here for you
As a member of the Parachute Regiment or Airborne Forces, you become part of our lifelong family, and our goal is to provide aid, guidance, and camaraderie to serving soldiers, veterans, and their families. We want to emphasize that seeking help is not a sign of weakness. SUPPORT OUR PARAS is here to assist you, just as you have served us.
Our Welfare and Transition team offer assistance to serving personnel, their families, and veterans.
For Serving Personnel:
We assist soldiers medically discharged in transitioning to civilian careers. We provide additional funding to complement MOD support, ensuring equal opportunities for success.
Our Career Transition Officer (CTO) helps soldiers leaving The Parachute Regiment prepare for civilian life and offers post-service support. They can also assist veterans with employment opportunities.
For mental health support, serving personnel should contact their Medical Officer, who can refer them to the Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH).
Our welfare team supports the families of fallen soldiers, offering memorial services.
For Veterans:
We provide welfare support to all veterans of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces and their dependents. If you need financial assistance, contact SSAFA or the Royal British Legion, who can appoint a caseworker. If eligible, they'll request assistance from us.
For routine mental health support, contact our Head of Welfare. In emergencies, reach out to your GP, A&E, the police, or call an ambulance.
