The charity describes its welfare objectives as follows: to relieve either generally or individually persons who are past or present members of the regiment, or former members of the former regiments, and their dependants who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. Grants are also made to other organisations. The charity is divided into four branches: Regimental Branch (which provides grants to promote the efficiency of The Regiment such as sporting efficiency and support the Regimental Museums); Chapel Branch (grants to upkeep the maintenance of the Regimental chapel and memorials); Relief Branch (grants for former members and dependants who are in need); and Chattels Branch (grants to maintain and preserve Regimental property).
