Salary range: £35,000 to £50,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Bristol, Gloucester, Glasgow, Leatherhead, Burton or Manchester
Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home

We are looking to grow our team with skilled individuals at the early stages of their career to develop our service delivery and increase our support to the nuclear market. We are looking for individuals with experience in engineering, decommissioning, safety case, nuclear operations or nuclear waste management and with a background in a STEM discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry or Physics.
Your role will encompass applying your skills to a range of projects for the design, construction, operation, maintenance, defueling, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. You'll need to be an effective communicator and enthusiastic about taking on challenging problems. You'll need to be keen to develop your skills and continue to hone what you can offer our clients. You'll work through the entire project lifecycle - from identifying opportunities and creating winning bids, to efficient project management and delivery, all the way to the seamless closure of projects. Through this, your contributions will be integral to our continued success.
The following gives a flavour of some of the projects you could work on:
- Support to the UKs operating fleet of nuclear reactors, keeping them operating or preparing for defueling and decommissioning.
- Supporting the next generation of nuclear reactors - SMRs and AMRs.
- A variety of decommissioning and waste management projects at Sellafield, Dounreay, NRS sites and the rest of the NDA estate, or involvement in the development of the UK Geological Disposal Facility.
- Developing safety cases in support of our civil and defence nuclear facility clients, including nuclear production, fuel handling and transport, facility operations safety and decommissioning.
- Supporting the UK fusion program.
- Support to the current and future UK submarine fleet.
- Conducting periodic review of safety of nuclear facilities.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful applicants will need to meet the following requirements:
- Degree or Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline, Physics or Chemistry (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable 2-4 years of civil nuclear or defence nuclear infrastructure experience.
- Ability to operate autonomously or as part of a team.
- Solid communication and organisational skills.
- A desire to develop and grow capabilities in nuclear.
- A willingness to travel and spend time on client sites.
DESIREABLE REQUIREMENTS
It would benefit applicants to be able to demonstrate basic capability in some of the following areas:
- Project Management: a basic understanding of what is required to manage and deliver a project.
- Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of local, national, and international regulations governing nuclear sites.
- Systems Engineering: Understanding of integrating various engineering disciplines to ensure comprehensive solutions.
- Safety Case: awareness of nuclear Safety Cases and how they are produced or modified.
- Nuclear Engineering: an awareness of nuclear physics, reactor operations, and fuel management.
- Radiological Safety: Awareness of radiological protection and legal obligations to protect workers, the environment and the public.
- Environmental Engineering: basic skills in assessing and mitigating environmental impacts, including waste management, exotic wastes and site remediation.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertakes, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
