Our Landlord Compliance & Stock Condition team play a key role in ensuring the council housing assets remain safe, compliant and well maintained. We are an experienced and professional team who oversee the completion of works across our housing stock. Join us and you'll be pivotal in shaping improvements that make a real difference to our tenants.
This is a full-time, permanent role, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Based at Mowmacre Hill Hub Office, you'll conduct regular site visits across the city, but have the flexibility of home working, depending on the needs of the service. You'll hold a full driving licence, have access to, and be able to use your own transport for work purposes.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out property surveys on council-owned and managed assets, you'll identify defects, and recommend remedial actions, focusing particularly on Disrepair, Damp & Condensation, Mutual Exchange, Right-to-Buy, Tenants Adaptions, Insurance Claims, and EPC surveys. You'll collate information in the form of measurements, sketches, photographs from which you'll prepare technical reports, specifications and drawings for works to be completed and for use in legal matters. You'll co-ordinate repairs with internal teams and external contractors to ensure works are delivered on time and to high standards. Undertaking regular on-site inspection, you'll monitor progress, ensuring contractual obligations are met. You'll provide advice and respond to complaints and enquiries, as well as manage budgets effectively, ensuring projects and services deliver value for money.
What you'll need
You'll have experience of working within a building surveying or property inspection setting, undertaking surveys associated with maintenance works across a broad range of residential building types and elements. With a strong understanding of legislation, codes of practice, and design standards relevant to residential buildings, you'll be able to analyse problems, make sound decisions, and deliver practical advice, guidance, and solutions. You'll have proficient IT skills, and ability to use systems to create clear and professional reports. Using excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you'll have the confidence to work with tenants, Councillors and professionals at all levels. You'll have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
