Based at the Leyland Depot, the OST role will provide leadership and training to our team of dedicated Front Line employees, who, together with our modern Fleet of accessible vehicles, provide transport for the most vulnerable sections of our community and, as such, we expect the highest of standards.
You will be one of two OSTs within the team and will work shift patterns of 09:30 - 17:30, Monday to Friday
What we are looking for...
Knowledge and Experience
We're looking for someone with a great mix of initiative, knowledge and experience within the transport industry. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of service and the maintenance of a large fleet of specialist vehicles with minimal supervision whilst ensuring all operate in line with our policies and procedures.
In addition, you will be capable and confident in delivering high quality training as well as managing and supporting a team of Front-Line staff who deliver this valuable service. This will include arranging staff cover, driving on runs and supporting in the office, as required.
Communication
We're seeking someone who is an excellent communicator, listener and is able to work independently but also collaboratively within a wider team. You'll enjoy building effective working relationships with other service areas and colleagues, understanding their needs but also being able to communicate difficult messages when needed.
You will be confident in delivering a package of driving and Passenger Assistant training modules in an effective and engaging manner.
Why join us...
Benefits: There's fabulous flexibility and the opportunity to create the work life balance you'll love; with up to 32 days annual leave plus 10 statutory/bank holidays. We also have an enviable Pension Scheme and Employee Benefits platform which provides numerous discounts from your weekly shop to holidays and entertainment with salary sacrifice options on electronics, bicycles, white goods, and cars.
Development: we'll provide support and development at each stage of your journey with us. There will be opportunities for career progression both within the service but also into other areas of the organisation if you wish. They'll be time for reflection and interaction with your line manager, as well as peer support from those within the wider team.
