The Team
During the Business Transformation Internship programme, you will join one of either our Corporate & Regulatory Change or Group Planning and Transformation Office (GPTO) teams:
Corporate and Regulatory Change is a team of change delivery professionals at the heart of transformation across Schroders. The team delivers Strategic Transformation across the Corporate functions which support our core investment business - driving functional and commercial improvements and coordinating enterprise-wide regulatory change programmes. Corporate Functions includes the newly established Schroders Data Office, so there is opportunity to contribute to data and AI-led initiatives. The Corporate and Reg Change team manage the end-to-end delivery of some of the firm's most important initiatives which carry significant exposure to all areas of the business and senior stakeholder engagement.
The Group Planning and Transformation Office (GPTO) consists of two separate but complementary fields:
Business Transformation Solutions is a dynamic team of internal transformation consultants, specialising in providing Strategic Solutions to the entire Schroders Group, across a range of service lines, such as strategy and business model design, target operating models and shaping & support for large-scale complex transformation. Working closely with business stakeholders, we play a pivotal role in enabling and delivering strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives.
The Programme Management Office (PMO) oversees the organisation's portfolio of projects and programmes ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and budgets to enable maximum value delivery. Their primary focus is setting the policy and structured process for prioritising initiatives, enabling effective resource allocation, monitoring progress against key milestones, managing budgets and key risks and providing governance frameworks to support decision-making. Additionally, they give Senior Leadership visibility over project and programme performance, enabling more informed and prompt responses to changing business needs.
What you will do
During your 10-week internship, you will be assigned to a live project in the role of either Junior Consultant, Junior Business Analyst or Project Management Support. Depending on your placement, your experience may include:
- Junior Consultant: Gain exposure to supporting the design and delivery of successful transformation whilst building knowledge of the business, its strategy and culture.
- Junior Business Analyst: Gain exposure to how business analysis bridges business needs and solutions by working alongside analysts and stakeholders. You may help gather and articulate business requirements, assist with documenting processes, and support the preparation of materials used in designing and implementing change.
- Project Management Support: Collaborate with project teams and business stakeholders to gain exposure to the delivery of change initiatives. Support the team by assisting with project coordination, communications and documentation, whilst learning about effective project management practices. Help ensure project activities are organized, tracked and take part in regular meetings and governance processes.
You will also own the delivery of an internally focused project, in partnership with your fellow intern, to deliver a pre-defined outcome to either help solve a business challenge or create specific sustainable value for the organisation.
Throughout your internship, you'll receive support and feedback from experienced colleagues to help you learn and develop key professional skills.
Qualifications required:
- An honours degree or equivalent - we're not fussed when it comes to your degree subject or predicted grade
- You will be in your penultimate year of study. Unfortunately, we no longer accept applications from final year students considering further studies (i.e. Masters) upon completion of undergraduate course
- A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
