Programme overview:
Our 2026 Summer Internship Programme runs for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 15 June and finishing on Friday 21st August 2026. This internship is designed to give you a unique introduction to the Asset Management industry and offers valuable insight into how your chosen department operates within Schroders.
*We are only accepting applications from penultimate year students graduating in 2027.
Throughout the programme you will:
- Take part in comprehensive introductory training to build your understanding of the business
- Be assigned to a team where you will contribute to live projects and gain meaningful hands-on experience
- Shadow experienced professionals and learn directly from leaders in the field
- Have opportunities to network with colleagues and other interns, helping you build connections for your future career
This internship provides practical experience, skill development, and a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in the Asset Management sector.
Who we're looking for:
We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated, demonstrate a strong ethical compass and are committed to delivering assurance that supports and strengthens Schroders' ability to create, protect and sustain value. The ideal candidate will combine curiosity and critical thinking with a proactive and positive attitude and possess the organisational skills necessary to contribute effectively within a global internal audit function.
Required skills and capabilities:
- Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding of financial markets; curious about the economic and regulatory environment
- Identifies trends and draws actionable insights; can articulate reasoning; coding (SQL, Python) is optional
- Proficient in Excel (and PowerPoint, Word) for data analysis, visualisation and reporting; uses basic formulae
- Balances multiple commitments; manages time to meet deadlines; organises meetings
- Clearly articulates concepts; manages challenging conversations; presents data in simple business language
- Maintains confidentiality; acts honestly and fairly

The team:
Group Internal Audit (GIA) at Schroders is the third line of defense, providing independent, risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight to the Board and management. The team works closely with Business teams and Risk & Compliance functions to provide challenge and assurance over the Group's control environment, risk management and governance arrangements.
GIA operates globally from headquarters in London, with permanent team members in Luxembourg and Singapore. The department consists of approximately 30 professionals from diverse backgrounds in practice, industry, and specialisms, organised into sub-teams covering Asset Management (public and private markets), Wealth Management, and Operations & Technology. The team is led by the Head of Group Internal Audit, reporting primarily to the Chair of the Board Audit and Risk Committee and secondarily to the Group Chief Executive.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications we're looking for:
- An honours degree or equivalent - we're not fussed when it comes to your degree subject or predicted grade
- Maths A-level or equivalent is preferable (a STEM degree if you do not hold a Maths A-level or equivalent)
- When the internship commences, you will have completed your second year of studies and will be on track to graduate in 2027.
- A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to understand our target audiences
