Care After Combat: Training on Military Service and the Justice System
Combat Stress is pleased to host Care after Combat’s specialist training on veterans and the justice system, delivered by their CEO and Clinical and Research Lead, Dr Jane Jones.
This live training session is designed for professionals supporting or working with veterans. It explores how military service can affect transition to civilian life and, in some cases, lead to involvement with the justice system.
The training challenges myths that wrongly link service to offending behaviour, examines the unique challenges veterans face within the justice system – particularly around release from prison and provides practical ways to offer effective support.
The sessions will run on Monday 27 October (13:30–16:30), Tuesday 28 October (09:30-12:30 and 13:30–16:30) and Thursday 30 October (13:30–16:30).
This training is free to attend through the Combat Stress Learning Community. Sign up now to secure your place and gain access to online training and this thought provoking training session.
About Combat Stress
Combat Stress, the UK's leading veterans' mental health charity, provides clinical treatment and support for veterans from the British Armed Forces, focusing on those with complex mental health issues resulting from their experiences during military service. When some military personnel leave service, their experiences can’t easily be left behind. Without treatment, psychological trauma can eventually tear lives apart.
For over a century, the charity has helped former military personnel with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.
Combat Stress services are provided across the UK, in-person and online. At a time that can be isolating and daunting, the charity is here to help.
