Tamworth Borough Council is proud to support the Armed Forces Community. We are continually striving to improve the service we offer to all our customers and we make sure those who have served in the Armed Forces are not disadvantaged because of their service.
As a council we recently re-signed the Armed Forces Covenant to re-enforce our support and commitment to supporting veterans and their families. We currently (July 2024) are awarded silver level in the employer recognition scheme.
We have introduced favourable working conditions for reservists (including 10 days additional paid leave per year) and promote our job vacancies on FFJ (Forces Families Jobs) and CTP (Career Transition Partnership) websites providing guaranteed interviews for those meeting the minimum requirements for the role.
Tamworth Borough Council supports Remembrance Day, Reservists Day and Armed Forces Day with various events in both the town centre and at Tamworth Castle.
