About AAA Caring Caretaker
AAA Caring Caretaker is a professional, highly experienced cleaning, grounds maintenance and removal services company based in North East England.
Our commitment to the Armed Forces Community
AAA Caring Caretaker is a family-owned property maintenance and cleaning services company that was founded by ex-RAF serviceman Richard Tucker MBE. It started as a division of AAA Property (North East) Ltd, Richard's existing student accommodation business, but was spun off into its own standalone company due to its success.
The core aim of AAA Caring Caretaker is to provide meaningful employment and career development opportunities specifically for military veterans. Where possible, its hiring model prioritises recruiting veterans, of which there are currently 17 employed, including some with disabilities.
The company offers a wide range of hands-on caretaker, cleaning, maintenance and landscaping roles. It also provides specialist training in complex cleaning services for venues like hospital theatres, ports and firing ranges. All staff start above minimum wage, with cleaners earning £15-18k and team leaders up to £20k. Salaries increase as skills develop.
Ongoing professional development is a priority. Employees are trained to NVQ Level 2 minimum and the company supports further vocational qualifications. Initiatives like the 'Joined Up' platform and partnerships with veteran charities are used to recruit more ex-forces talent.
AAA Caring Caretaker is passionate about promoting the advantages of employing veterans to other companies too. Richard pioneered an ambassador programme helping veteran entrepreneurs create jobs. The company now collaborates with the Armed Forces Business Forum to help firms achieve the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold standard.
With its commitment to training, competitive pay, progression and advocacy, AAA Caring Caretaker provides flexible, supportive workplaces where veterans can build lasting careers. Its team-focused ethos and near zero staff turnover are testament to its supportive company culture. Accreditations include the Gold Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and being a Disability Leader Employer.
