At MBDA, we design, develop and manufactures missiles and missile systems for each branch of our UK Armed Forces, as well as for allied nations and governments.
What we do matters. Because defence matters.
With military values at its core, MBDA partners closely with the Armed Forces for seamless transitions and integration for veterans. As the leading European producer of missiles and missile systems for all military branches, MBDA benefits greatly from employees with combat expertise.
With over 300 veterans, their experience builds rapport and unique, highly valued defence partnerships. MBDA has dedicated recruitment campaigns and talent pools for veterans. Long-standing collaboration with the Careers Transition Partnership promotes roles and events. In 2023, MBDA will attend at least 3 military recruitment events and have employee network representatives share insights at others.
Veteran CVs are reviewed by the Armed Forces Network to communicate abilities to hiring managers. If unsuitable for one role, alternatives aligning experience are found. Bounty referrals also promote opportunities through veterans' networks.
Entry-level salaries range from £28,000-£40,000 depending on experience. More experienced veterans can enter at senior levels. Support starts with an independent ‘buddy’. Extensive promotion from within is offered, with management training for transitional support.
An active ex-military/reservist network offers internal support and leads events like Remembrance and Armed Forces Day. Informal veteran meetups provide peer discussion. The Families Network supports those with serving loved ones. HR policies encourage Reserves and cadet service with paid leave for annual training and part-time considerations.
MBDA’s strong culture and experience has led to numerous awards including featuring in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024, and ranking 8th in the Great British Employer of Veterans 2025. MBDA has also achieved rare Platinum status from Investors in People (IIP) for both Apprenticeships and Wellbeing, as well as Gold in all other categories.
