This is a Maintenance Caretaker role at Elysium Healthcare's Gregory House in Workington, Cumbria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the service facilities are fit for purpose, conducting regular audits, and assisting with maintenance, repairs, and gardening tasks. They will work as part of a dedicated team to provide a safe and well-presented environment for the vulnerable service users.

Join Gregory House in Workington as a Maintenance Caretaker where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the service facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and regularly conducting audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

You'll receive all necessary training to get you started and join the dedicated team, where you can make a positive difference and be part of changing lives for the better. As a Maintenance Caretaker you will be:

• Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
• Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
• Assisting in all decorating.
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
• Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.
• Maintaining the perimeter fencing around boundaries
• Facilitating gardening groups with patients

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Comply with system and procedures.
• Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
• Have gardening experience
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
• Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Where you will be working:

Location: Furness Road, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3PD

You will be working at Gregory House, a Learning Disability and Autism service, providing care and support to 22 adults who have a Learning Disability and/or Mental Health needs. You will work alongside the team helping to provide a specialist provision. The service has an enhanced level of support to allow people with continuing challenging behaviour and high support needs to be cared for in the least restrictive setting possible, but within a service which is robust and structured enough to meet their ongoing needs and risks. The service ensures people lead good and meaningful everyday lives, where they have choice and control, accessing mainstream services and facilities, engaging in work and training, in leisure opportunities, hobbies and areas of personal interest. Gregory House encourages people to be as independent as possible with the long-term aim of people moving onto a more independent living setting.
