Finance Assistant
Location: Malvern
Salary: £25,000 - £26,500 (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Fully Office Based
Are you an experienced Finance Assistant with a strong working knowledge of Xero? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment where no two days are the same?
Our client is seeking a proactive Finance Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid finance background and a passion for accuracy to play a key role in the day-to-day operations of a busy accounts department.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing multiple email inboxes and responding to queries efficiently
- Creating, posting, and allocating invoices in Xero to the correct property and owner
- Posting payments and reconciling accounts across all companies
- Handling incoming post, including utility and council tax bills
- Calculating sub-meter invoices and managing utility correspondence
- Producing monthly debtors and creditors lists for reporting
- Processing purchase invoices, checking against orders, resolving disputes, and liaising with suppliers
- Raising weekly BACS payments and ensuring accurate ledger postings
- Carrying out monthly bank and ledger reconciliations
- Supporting with month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Reconciling credit card payments and supporting with ad-hoc finance tasks
- A minimum of 1 year's experience using Xero accounting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- A methodical and organised approach, with great attention to detail
- A confident communicator, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- A team player who's happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in!
