Site Agent - Substation Projects (Scotland)
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Site Agent to join our growing team delivering a range of high-profile substation and energy infrastructure projects across Scotland.
This is a key role in the successful execution of major works supporting the country's transition to a more sustainable energy future. You'll be working on critical substation construction schemes across project sites including Inverness, Argyll, Orkney, and Peterhead, where your leadership and site management expertise will help ensure smooth and safe project delivery.
As a Site Agent, you will take overall responsibility for on-site activities, managing the day-to-day operation of your project section. You'll coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that work is delivered to specification, safely, on time, and to budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote and enforce the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance in line with company policy and legal obligations.
- Manage and coordinate site operations, supervising both direct staff and subcontractors to ensure efficient and safe working practices.
- Develop, implement, and manage site-specific management plans, including RAMS and site logistics.
- Drive programme delivery, ensuring that activities are scheduled, resourced, and completed according to the agreed project timeline.
- Liaise closely with engineers, designers, and the commercial team to resolve issues and mitigate delays.
- Monitor quality control on-site, ensuring that works are built in accordance with design and specification.
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials, plant, and labour, contributing to regular reporting.
- Support the development and mentoring of site staff and junior engineers.
- Lead on client and stakeholder engagement at a site level, representing the project with professionalism and integrity.
- HND, Degree, or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- CSCS - Manager or Professionally Qualified Person.
- SMSTS certification is essential.
- Experience working on substation or major utility/infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary site teams.
- Excellent understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and programme delivery.
- A confident communicator with strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
