Construction Worker (106lw) - UK wide – Addlestone, Surrey - £19 - £22 per hour
Our client who specialises in building bespoke high-quality basements are looking for a Construction Worker, to start by June or July, to work on self-builders’ construction projects.
Our client can offer you independent work in a motivated team, training tailored to individual skills and abilities, Training on site and they will support you in obtaining required certifications after 6-months.
You will be the one to help the plans of architects and engineers come to life and become full and solid structures. Experience in working on relevant projects and using equipment is essential. You must have physical strength, endurance and work well with your hands. Being effective in collaboration, following instructions and safety rules, are also important.
Job Responsibilities
· Assist tradesmen and machine operators in construction projects
· Unload or load and carry materials required for the project at construction sites
· Drive material to the project site or from the project site to the yard
· Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps (e.g. cement)
· Install basements and ground bearing slab
· Smooth and level new concrete or other materials
· Clean out site from debris and discarded material
· Keep all material and machinery provided in a clean and tidy condition
· Follow quality assessment & Health and Safety rules
· Always deliver first class quality work
Experience Required
· Proven experience as a construction worker (or transferrable/related skills within the military such as engineering, logistics, manual labour experience/ working in physically demanding environments – formal civilian construction certifications are not required for this role)
· Experience in operating equipment like drills, pneumatic hammers etc.
· Knowledge of mixing and pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.)
· Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods
· Able to work well in a team
· Able to read instructions and blueprints when needed
· Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
· Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
· Minimum clean driving license B + BE to drive a Van and Trailer, alternatively clean driving license C1+E to drive a 7.5-ton HGV with trailer
