Apprenticeship Opportunity: Business Support Officer

Location: Town Hall, Gosport
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible working available)
Contract: 2 Years Fixed Term Contract.
Salary: Up to £23,418.
Gosport Borough Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within our Customer Services, Civic and Democratic Services department as an apprentice Business Support Officer
This role is ideal for a person who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional office environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team where you'll play a key role in supporting the Council's committees, civic events, and senior leadership team.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Business Support officer apprentice, you'll receive full training and support to help you develop your skills and confidence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation and servicing of Council meetings (agendas, minutes, attendance)
- Supporting the organisation of civic events and activities
- Providing administrative support to the Executive Assistant and Mayor's PA
- Maintaining accurate records and updating the Council's website
- Handling confidential information and correspondence
- Processing invoices, booking training, and ordering supplies
- Liaising with Councillors , staff, and external organisations
