We are proud to be an oversubscribed, 'Good' Catholic primary school and nursery, with a friendly and welcoming environment where every child is valued. Our school community is diverse and inclusive - with over 50 languages spoken - and our families, staff and governors work together to ensure every child flourishes academically, socially and spiritually.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed class teacher to join our team from January 2026. Being a Catholic or practising Christian is an advantage but not a prerequisite - we value the unique contribution of everyone who works within our school.

We have a strong culture of professional development and warmly welcome applications from early-career teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners.

We are looking for a teacher who:
• Is actively committed to the aims and ethos of our Catholic Christian school
• Is kind, caring and positive, committed to removing barriers so that all children can achieve
• Has high expectations and can inspire and motivate children in their learning
• Is enthusiastic, hardworking and reflective
• Can communicate effectively and work as part of a strong, collaborative team
• Is resilient, professional and self-motivated

We will offer you:
• Well-behaved, motivated children who love to learn
• Friendly, supportive colleagues, families and governors who work closely together
• A leadership team that prioritises staff wellbeing and professional growth
• A strong culture of teamwork, care and respect
• A commitment to high-quality, ongoing professional development

At St Swithun's, we believe in developing every member of our community - staff and pupils alike - to their fullest potential, in a culture of care, respect and joy in learning.
